Origen: Torredelcampo - Jaen
OLEOCAMPO, Sociedad Cooperativa Andaluza, was established on October 29, 1994, formed by three mills — Santa Catalina, San Bartolomé, and La Unión — all located in the municipality of Torredelcampo, province of Jaén. With more than fifty years of history, these mills produce the extra virgin olive oil that is bottled and marketed under the Oleocampo brand.
The production centers that make up Oleocampo were founded by small and medium-sized groups of olive-growing farmers from Torredelcampo. Until then, and going back through generations, the farmers of Torredelcampo used to mill their olives in private mills. The creation of these cooperatives marked the first step in uniting the farmers’ efforts toward a common goal, allowing them to increase their membership and, in turn, the production volume of extra virgin olive oil year after year.
All located in Torredelcampo, in the heart of the province of Jaén, they are part of the Campiña Sur region. Among their olive groves — many of them centuries old — they produce an oil of exceptional quality, carefully cultivated by more than 2,000 olive growers who tend 7,437.84 hectares of olive trees, mostly rainfed and primarily of the Picual variety.
