Origen: Bailen - Jaen
In the heart of the province of Jaén (Andalusia), at the foot of the A-4 highway that connects the main urban centers of southern Spain with Madrid, Picualia was born.
Picualia is the fusion of Agrícola de Bailén and Virgen de Zocueca, two agri-food cooperatives that decided to give the name Picualia to a powerful and modern olive mill, highlighting especially that the variety of olives they harvest is Picual. This variety is the one with the highest antioxidant effects and is the most healthy among the 2,600 types of olives found in the world.
For 70 years, since the first models of olive oil cooperatives began to take shape, the farmers of our city (Bailén) who formed these companies were clear that sooner or later a merger would unite them and make their new facilities much more productive, offering high-quality oil, with high traceability in the product, thus eliminating all types of chemical processes and controlling the excellent category of virgin and extra virgin olive oils that are currently marketed under Picualia.
