According to Carlos Pascual Pons, advisor to the Spanish economic and commercial office in Shanghai, exports of virgin olive oil to China are growing significantly.
In the first quarter of 2013, Spanish virgin olive oil exports grew by 80% year-on-year, reaching 35 million euros, well above sales in Italy (8.2 million euros), with less than 14% of the market.
