According to Carlos Pascual Pons, advisor at the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Shanghai, exports of extra virgin olive oil to China are growing significantly.
In the first quarter of 2013, Spanish extra virgin olive oil exports grew 80% year-on-year, reaching 35 million euros, far above Italian sales (8.2 million euros), with less than 14% of the market.
