Eight AOVEs from Jaén will receive the “Jaén Selección 2026” distinction
The Provincial Council of Jaén has announced the extra virgin olive oils (EVOO) awarded with the Jaén Selección 2026 distinction, an accolade that each year highlights excellence within the sector.
In this edition, the cooperative model has taken center stage, as seven of the eight awarded oils belong to agri-food cooperatives, a fact welcomed by the provincial federation.
The eight oils of excellence
This year’s award winners are:
- Oro Bailén Picual
- Tierras de Canena Picual
- Balcón del Guadalquivir Premium Picual (Organic)
- Campos de Biatia La Dama Íbera Picual
- Jabalcuz Premium Brillo Picual
- Oro de Cánava Early Harvest Picual
- Puerta de Las Villas Eco
- Sierra Santo Tomé
The success of collective effort
The fact that seven of the eight award-winning oils come from cooperatives is considered “particularly significant”, as it highlights the importance of this sector in the province of Jaén and its key role in transforming the olive-growing production model.
International promotion of EVOO from Jaén
These EVOOs will display the Jaén Selección 2026 distinction at international events such as Fitur, Madrid Fusión, San Sebastián Gastronomika, World’s 50 Best Restaurants, the Michelin Spain Gala, Salón de Gourmets, Alimentaria, WOOE, and the Fiesta del Primer Aceite de Jaén.
